Call of the Wild

1 month ago Fashion, Photography, Style0

I’ve always been a cat person. Don’t mistake me I like dogs too but if I had to choose between the two, I’d probably go for the former. So anyway, recently we took up a project with a shopping portal wherein I was required to create a “Wild” themed look (the link for the same is at the bottom of this article). The scope was plenty but the first thought I had was of the of lethal big cats. And the challenge was that the look had to be created from personal belongings only. This made it even more exciting.

The outfit, the make-up and whole vibe here is inspired by the idea of a wild cat but we still had to keep the outfit decent enough to be worn in public. So here is how you can do it!

Keeping it under budget has always been my motive. Here for the top I simply wrapped an animal print scarf around me, put the corners through a bangle and tied them up at the back. Make sure you tug the loose ends away and fix them with a safety pin. If the size of the fabric is enough, you already have a dress. Otherwise pair it up with plain tights and color coordinated footwear so that the focus stays on the animal print. I prefer heels because they double my confidence.

Makeup and Hair

Well you must have already guessed. Cat eyes! Highlight your eyes with a nice bold eyeliner or go for smokey eyes and experiment with dark undertones. Balance this out with nude lips so that the focus goes right back up. Or go for the opposite like I did, bold lips and nude eyes. For this look we were glad to have Deepali Dhingra along who gets complete credit for the hair and makeup . The link to her Instagram profile is also at the bottom of this article. As for the hair, I normally prefer to let my hair just be themselves. Sometimes they go completely crazy. But this time we opted for soft curls.

This look can be accessorized in many ways. You can opt for different jewelry in shapes of animals or fake nails. If you are planning to go for a party, kick it up a notch with tattoos similar to the print on your outfit. A smudge free eyeliner would do the trick.

So well that’s it for this look. If you are ever confused about what to wear, opt for a red lipstick and unleash your hidden wild side.  I promise you will see yourself in a whole new light.
